Green bean casserole is pretty much a staple on many holiday tables. Unfortunately, although it sounds like it would be pretty healthy, in reality, it is not.
Cream of pretty much anything canned soup (and canned soup in general) are secret hiding places for lots of salt, sugar, carbohydrates, preservatives and all sorts of other ingredients that are not healthy. And don’t even get me started on the ingredients of that fried onion topping!
The good news is that both of those ingredients can be swapped out for easy to make healthy replacements.

Green Bean Casserole
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Combine all ingredients, reserving 1/2 of fried onions for topping
- Place in prepared baking dish, top with remaining onions and bake for 20-30 minutes, until casserole is bubbly and onions are golden brown
