Dairy-Free Eggnog Protein Drink
Nothing says holiday quite like a delicious cup of eggnog. Some people like eggnog, others don’t, but for those of us who do, eggnog can really be a big sidetrack to sticking to our healthy eating lifestyle.
That is until now! This delicious dairy-free version will give you the satisfaction of a delicious cup of eggnog with the amazing side benefit of being loaded with protein!
The other great thing about this recipe is that it is delicious with or without the alcohol, so feel free to take this with you to the office for a delicious afternoon pick-me-up or savor it in the evening to put a healthy end to your sugar cravings!
Additionally, you can also leave out the protein powder and just use a teaspoon of pure vanilla extract and a tablespoon of raw honey. You won’t have the same protein content, but it will still be healthy and delicious!
I just have one word of caution. If you are diabetic and are on medication, and you omit the protein powder, please be aware that because of the cinnamon, you may experience a crash. Why? Because cinnamon is a powerful spice that will lower your blood sugar! That’s great news, but you also need to be careful if you are also taking medications.

Dairy-Free Holiday Eggnog
- 1 C unsweetened almond milk (or other non-dairy milk)
- 1/4 C coconut milk full fat
- 1 Sustain Protein Powder
- 1/2 banana frozen (cut in pieces)
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp fresh ground nutmeg
- ground cloves just a pinch - optional
- 1-2 TBSP rum
- Add all ingredients to a blender and whiz until combined and frothy
- To serve, you can sprinkle a little more fresh ground nutmeg on top
