Comforting Quinoa Breakfast Porridge

Comforting Quinoa Porridge

One of the absolute best things you can do for yourself and your health is to start your day off with a great breakfast sans the sugar.  That where this Comforting Quinoa Breakfast Porridge perfectly fits the bill.

It’s not only warm, spicy, and comforting, but quinoa, is also gluten-free.

Did you know that quinoa Quinoa-Goosefoot Plantisn’t even a grain?  Yep, that’s right!  It’s actually a seed.  Specifically a seed from the gooseneck plant.

The health benefits of quinoa are many, but the ones that I find most intriguing are that first of all, it is a gluten-free complete protein, containing all 20 of the essential amino acids that your body needs for optimum health, as well as maintaining or losing weight.

Other benefits include it being heart healthy,  a great source of antioxidants that help to reduce free-radical damage and therefore may prevent cancer, it has nutrients that support a healthy gut and it also contains high amounts of manganese, which is essential for strong healthy bones, as well as prevention of diabetes.

All this means that you’ll be starting your day off right and you’ll be adding some blood-sugar stabilizing nourishment to your body that will provide you will sustained energy all the way through to lunch.

How good does that sound?!  I know, right?

I’ve always had a really hard time eating breakfast, so when I started my new healthy lifestyle, that was one of the things that I HAD to fix, and boy am I ever glad I did.  I no longer get those headaches around 10AM am and rushing to the coffee pot for a pick-me-up.

Not only that, but when I switched to having a healthy breakfast, everything changed!  All of a sudden, I was able to lose weight, and because I was satisfied, I didn’t need to snack on the baked goodies that so often fill our office coffee rooms.

I’m super excited for you to try this out for yourself and let me know what kind of difference it makes in how you feel throughout your mornings!

This recipe is the day six (6) breakfast main dish recipe of my 7-Day Meal Plan program. I created the program because after researching the meal plan program provided by a recognized authority on diabetes, I was appalled at the ingredients and nutrition values.
