is quite possibly the easiest and one of the tastiest dressings to make at home.
Pretty much ALL commercial salad dressings are chemical concoctions that can wreck havoc on your healthy eating program. And, fat-free ones are probably the worst! Did you know that most commercial salad dressings have sugar (mostly in the form of high fructose corn syrup) and MSG in them?!
I’m sure you’ve heard me mention before, that you NEED to have healthy fats in your diet in order to have proper digestion as well as nutrient absorption and optimal health.
The oil of choice for most dressings is canola, which is definitely NOT a healthy fat. Who ever heard of a canola plant?!
This delicious dressing whips up in about 3 minutes flat, so there’s no need to pay exorbitant prices for so called “healthy” dressing, when you can make your own and be sure what the ingredients are.
Paired with a delicious Mixed Green Salad, this balsamic vinaigrette is sure to please!
- 2 TBSP balsamic vinegar
- 2 TBSP fresh lemon juice
- 2 TBSP water
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic finely minced
- 1 TBSP raw honey
- 1/2 C extra virgin olive oil
- kosher salt to taste
- fresh ground black pepper to taste
- Mince garlic
- Measure vinegar, water and mustard in small mixing bowl. Add the garlic and a pinch of salt and a few grinds of pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Drizzle olive oil while whisking to emulsify.
